Materials

Procedure

  1. Assign reading check questions from chapter 5 and 6. Collect and discuss.

  2. Discuss highlights of chapters. Elicit from students examples of their parents “commandments.”

  3. Read chapter 7.

  4. Explain the next type of question, “think and search.”

  5. Refer to QAR sample passage. Provide examples of a “think and search” question. Have students practice writing questions.

Homework

Write one “think and search” question; write vocabulary sentences for words in set two.
