Objectives
- To demonstrate understanding of chapters
- To practice QAR (“author and you” questions)
Materials
Copies of the QAR chart and concept map.
Procedure
- Assign reading check question from chapter 18. Collect
and discuss.
- Collect vocabulary sentences for review.
- Give overview of chapter 17.
- Discuss highlights of chapter 18.
- Read chapter 19 and discuss highlights.
- Help students recognize coping mechanisms that emerge
in these chapters—religion as escape and strength
and hope derived from feats of heroes.
- Have each student write one “author and you”
question. Discuss.
Homework
Chapter 20; write two “author and you” questions.
