Objectives

  • To demonstrate understanding of reading
  • To define hyperbole and locate examples in the text

Materials

Procedure

  1. Collect vocabulary sentences

  2. Discuss highlights from chapter 31.

  3. Read chapters 32 and 33; discuss highlights.

  4. Write the definition for hyperbole and have students write the definition in the “literary terms” section of their binders. Provide a few examples.

  5. Have students work in pairs to locate two examples of their own.

Homework

Read chapter 34.
