Weekly Calendar:
Week 1:

Teacher will introduce and instruct students on the
use of Microsoft Word and document format.

Teacher will explain the definition of family traditions.

Teacher will lecture on forms of figurative language,
including metaphor, simile, personification, and symbol.

Students will brainstorm about their family traditions.

distinguish denotative and connotative meanings.

(oral report).

Teacher will review reciprocal teaching with students.

Students will work in small groups using reciprocal
teaching as they read through the book.
