XX Web Quest

Directions:

All WebQuests must meet the following requirements:

1.       Must have 12 questions (no more, no less) If you have more than 12 good questions choose the best 12!

2.       Questions should cover a wide range of “related” topics. Consider including questions about the author’s biography, the author’s times, the book itself, professional interpretations or commentary, fascinating trivia, connections to other pieces of literature etc.

3.       Questions should range in difficulty, but all questions should be INTERESTING, SIGNIFICANT, AND/OR WORTHWHILE for enhancing or extending student understanding and appreciation of the author, the book, the book’s connection to the real world, or satire in general.

4.       You must provide 5 (only) web sites as possible sources for finding correct answers AND each web site must be the source of the correct answer for at least one of your questions.

5.       In order to encourage students to “explore,” (learn more than just the answers to your questions!), your questions should meet the following requirements:

q       No more than 4 questions should have answers that can be found on the “first” page of the sites you list.

q       At least 3 of your questions should require students to click MORE than ONE link, but none of your questions should require students to click more than THREE links.

6.       THIS IS IMPORTANT!!! ASK ME IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND THIS INSTRUCTION!! Many sites are made up of several linked “pages.”  If your question requires students to click on one or more links, your answers must be found on pages created by the same person(s) who created the “first page” you send students to.

7.       You must provide an answer key that gives the questions, correct answers, and appropriate information about where the answer can be found, including the original URL, appropriate link(s), and location of answer on the page. Use the template on page 3 of this document.

8.       On your answer key you must also provide as much site validation as you can for each of your original five sites. Use the form at the end of this document. NOTE: You may not find all of requested information, but you must provide all that you can find.

9.       You must proofread carefully! Any spelling errors that a spell checker would have caught will lower your grade.

10.   Please double-check your URLs. They can sometimes be long and complicated. Make sure you have not mistyped them.
