Week Three:
Students are to read one
"Part" each day, which approximates
out to 40-50 pages. The teacher should begin
and conclude each period with discussion questions
and clarification.
At the conclusion of the
book, students will write a critique of the
book answering questions such as those listed
below:
- What was Kay's childhood like? Discuss her
family.
- What was Kay's first bipolar episode like?
How did she view it?
- What finally led Kay to therapy? How did
she view it?
- What was Kay's experience like with medication?
Why did she refuse to take it? Why did she
begin to take it again? Besides medication,
what assisted her in her recovery?
- How did Kay end up as a professor at John
Hopkins?
- Overall, how does she view the bipolar experience?
How has she found peace of mind?
